Dr. Alejandra Franco, Director of Clinical Skills Development is a highly accomplished General Surgeon specializing in Laparoscopy and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. She is a dynamic leader, overseeing the design and implementation of programs that enhance students' practical competencies. Combining clinical expertise with educational acumen, they develop and refine curricula focused on hands-on skills, patient communication, and physical examination. Her role involves collaborating with faculty, healthcare institutions, and simulation centers to create immersive learning experiences. She plays a pivotal role in ensuring that students develop proficiency in clinical practices, fostering a seamless transition from classroom knowledge to real-world patient care, and contributing to the overall excellence of medical education through innovative and effective clinical skills training. With a strong command of multiple languages, including English, French (B1 level), and German (A1 level), Dr. Franco has expanded her expertise globally through international observerships and proctorships in the United States and Europe. Dr. Alejandra Franco has a keen interest in research and has published several articles and presented her work at national and international conferences, covering topics such as colonoscopy, obesity surgery, and pediatric bowel obstruction. She is actively involved in teaching and has served as an instructor, research team member, and professor of clinical skills.
