APPROVALS

 ACCREDITED MEDICAL EDUCATION

The Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG) is fully accredited, which is crucial for ensuring that its medical education meets national and international standards, allowing graduates to qualify for licensure and practice in the U.S. and other countries. UAG holds several important accreditations, including from Mexican educational authorities, as well as recognition by international bodies like the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). Being an accredited medical school guarantees the quality of education and provides eligibility for students to take the USMLE exams, apply for residency programs, and pursue medical careers globally.
SCHOOL OF MEDICINE ACCREDITATION

The Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG) is fully recognized and approved by the Mexican government to confer medical degrees to students who meet the admission criteria and complete the required curriculum. The UAG School of Medicine holds full accreditation from the Mexican Council for the Accreditation of Medical Education (COMAEM), an organization endorsed by key accrediting bodies such as:

  • Council for the Accreditation of Higher Education (COPAES)
  • Ibero-American Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (RIACES)
  • World Federation of Medical Education (WFME)
  • National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation (NCFMEA).

These accreditations ensure that UAG meets international standards for medical education, making its graduates eligible for licensure and global medical practice.

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

Through the National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation (NCFMEA), the U.S. Department of Education has determined that the accreditation process of the Mexican Council for the Accreditation of Medical Education (COMAEM) is comparable to that of the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).

This recognition grants UAG School of Medicine Title IV approval, allowing the University to offer Federal Student Loans to eligible students. Graduates are also qualified to apply for residency and obtain medical licensure in all 50 U.S. states and Puerto Rico, ensuring a seamless transition into the U.S. healthcare system

LICENSURE AND STATE APPROVALS
