ACCREDITED MEDICAL EDUCATION
The Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG) is fully recognized and approved by the Mexican government to confer medical degrees to students who meet the admission criteria and complete the required curriculum. The UAG School of Medicine holds full accreditation from the Mexican Council for the Accreditation of Medical Education (COMAEM), an organization endorsed by key accrediting bodies such as:
These accreditations ensure that UAG meets international standards for medical education, making its graduates eligible for licensure and global medical practice.
Through the National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation (NCFMEA), the U.S. Department of Education has determined that the accreditation process of the Mexican Council for the Accreditation of Medical Education (COMAEM) is comparable to that of the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).
This recognition grants UAG School of Medicine Title IV approval, allowing the University to offer Federal Student Loans to eligible students. Graduates are also qualified to apply for residency and obtain medical licensure in all 50 U.S. states and Puerto Rico, ensuring a seamless transition into the U.S. healthcare system

Specific states, including New York, New Jersey, California, and Florida, require additional state approval or licensure for conducting clinical clerkships.
