The UAG School of Medicine is expanding U.S. clinical opportunities, with Florida now approved for long-term clerkships starting in 2026, giving students access to diverse hospitals and patient populations to prepare for residency and medical careers.




UAG Social Service Interns Mariana Ramírez Ruvalcaba and Itzel Sofía Simpson Sagahon presented a groundbreaking case report on a rare brain tumor at the XVIII Mexican Congress of Neurosurgery, marking the first time UAG interns have showcased research at this prestigious event.


On July 24, 2025, over 100 first-semester UAG medical students attended their first B1 Review Session, led by student TAs, to strengthen knowledge, practice clinical thinking, and prepare for USMLE-style assessments.


UAG School of Medicine hosted its first Abdominal X-Ray & Ultrasound Workshop for second-semester students, providing hands-on training with real equipment to apply anatomy knowledge and develop early clinical skills.


On July 25, UAG School of Medicine hosted its Interest Group Fair, featuring 25 student-led booths that highlighted medical interest groups and programs, fostering community, engagement, and leadership.


On July 15, 2025, first-semester UAG medical students participated in a workshop on the patient-physician relationship, developing communication, empathy, and ethical skills through interactive activities and peer engagement.


The UAG School of Medicine welcomed the Class of 2029—160 future physicians from the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico—into its International Medical Program, marking the start of their transformative journey in medicine.

Dr. Adrian Garza Cavazos, UAG alumnus, joins University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center’s Women’s Health team, bringing expertise in obstetrics, gynecology, and patient-centered care for women in Southern Maryland.
