At UAG, medicine is about people as much as science. In our recent workshop, students learned that becoming a great doctor starts with empathy, communication, and connection.
Medicine isn’t just about science. It’s about people.
That’s why, at UAG School of Medicine, we begin fostering patient-centered care from the very first semester. In our recent workshop held July 15, 2025, students dove into the patient-physician relationship, exploring how communication and compassion are just as essential as clinical skills.
But this wasn’t your typical lecture.
Students were grouped based on personal interests—food, music, sports, and movies—and invited to share snacks, laugh together, and build bonds across the generation. As the session unfolded, it turned into a lively discussion about real-world challenges in clinical communication:
💬 How do you manage a difficult patient interaction?
🧠 What happens when trust is broken?
🤝 How can a physician remain objective but empathetic?
Through case-based questions and open dialogue, students discovered that becoming a doctor starts with learning how to listen—and how to connect.
This is the CSD difference.
This is how UAG prepares future doctors from the inside out.
