PATH PROGRAM

Providing Assistance for Travel and Hospitality

Reduce Costs and Make Travel Easier
The PATH Program helps reduce costs for medical students by offering free lodging with alumni volunteers during residency interviews. This unique opportunity allows students to save money on travel and accommodation, making the residency application process less financially stressful.
Connect with Alumni Physicians
One of the key benefits of the PATH Program is the chance for students to connect with alumni physicians. Students can ask questions about different specialties, regions, and residency programs, gaining firsthand insight and advice from those who have been through the process themselves.
Get Valuable Residency Advice
Students participating in the PATH Program receive personalized guidance on residency training, prospective medical centers, and the communities they are considering for their future careers. This advice helps students make informed decisions and prepares them for the next step in their medical careers.
Make the Interview Process Easier
The PATH Program helps to streamline the residency interview process, allowing students to focus on their interviews rather than the stress of logistics. By connecting with alumni and receiving advice, students are supported throughout this crucial time in their medical journey.
Support for Residency Interviews
The PATH Program helps match applicants feel supported during their residency interviews, whether in person or virtually. For many alumni, the PATHing experience is incredibly rewarding as it allows them to stay in touch with students and continue offering guidance.
Introducing the ePATH Program
In response to changes in the residency interview process since the pandemic, we are excited to introduce the ePATH Program. This virtual version of the PATH program allows students to connect with alumni nationwide through phone or Zoom calls. The ePATH program ensures students can gain deeper insight into various specialties, regions, and institutions without the need for extensive travel.
How the PATH Program Benefits Students and Alumni

The PATH Program not only helps students during the stressful and expensive process of residency interviews but also allows alumni to contribute in a way that is meaningful and impactful. By offering guidance, advice, and even accommodations, alumni can make a tangible difference in the lives of students, all while strengthening the UAG School of Medicine community.

Participating in the PATH Program also benefits alumni by reigniting their commitment to their alma mater, providing an opportunity for professional growth, and expanding their network of young doctors who will continue to inspire and support them.

Join the PATH Program

The PATH Program is an excellent way for UAG alumni to stay connected with current students and contribute to their success. Whether offering advice, sharing experiences, or providing a place to stay during interviews, your involvement can make a lasting impact on the next generation of medical professionals.
