& Interest Groups
Student Associations are a vital component of a successful medical school life. UAG students have a forum in these international chapters to distribute information about medical education, licensure, practice, and to represent the needs and interests of international students through an active voice.
UAG School of Medicine hosts several active medical organizations on campus permitting medical students to deepen their knowledge in particular areas of medicine while strengthening their bonds with fellow classmates. Active medical organizations at UAG currently include but are not limited to the following:
The Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) serves as an educational platform aimed at fostering and cultivating interest in the field of Family Medicine. Through various activities, FMIG aims to inspire medical students to explore and engage with the diverse aspects of Family Medicine, including its comprehensive approach to patient care across different stages of life. By participating in FMIG, students not only gain clinical insights but also develop leadership skills and a commitment to philanthropic endeavors within the medical community.
The American Medicine Student Association (AMSA) aims to create a supportive environment for the innovative ideas of physicians-in-training, foster a cohesive relationship with student and non-student organizations of Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara International Chapter, serve as a platform for discussing health issues and shaping policy agendas, advocate for improvements in medical education responsive to societal needs, maintain its identity focused on physicians-in-training, enhance community health care through programs, cultivate healthcare leadership, offer valuable membership services, and promote health information awareness among members and the public. It commits to periodically reviewing and ensuring the effective fulfillment of these objectives.
