UAG’s International MD program has solidified itself throughout its history by offering the most in-depth and personalized medical education program in Latin America. It currently boasts more than 19,000 graduates and is aiming for more.

Led by Vice-President, Antonio Leaño del Castillo, UAG organized the 2024 Orientation event to welcome its new class of aspiring physicians.  In his message, he welcomed the students and expressed gratitude to each of them for entrusting UAG to shape them into future physicians.
"Your decision to come to UAG reflects your dedication and pursuit of excellence in the field of medicine," noted Leaño del Castillo. "UAG has a rich history in training outstanding medical professionals, and I am confident that you, the class of 2027, will continue this legacy."
In preparation for the start of classes, he added that, in addition to acquiring knowledge, new students will also benefit from the university’s full array of campus life activities, including access to sporting events, enrichment activities, as well as the opportunity to learn more about Mexico’s rich and vibrant culture.
Dr. Kashif Ahmad, Dean of the UAG International School of Medicine, congratulated the new students for taking the opportunity to study outside their country and learn in a global environment.
"You are experiencing global health in a culture, environment, and setting different from your own country, and that is a wonderful challenge," he said.
Furthermore, he highlighted that studying in Guadalajara provides them the opportunity to immerse themselves in one of Mexico's finest cities, renowned for its diverse array of tourist and cultural attractions.  Also present at the 2024 Orientation was special guest, Dr. Nnamdi Orakpo, a UAG School of Medicine graduate who has excelled in the field of psychiatry in the United States.
