A UAG School of Medicine Graduate is contributing to the advancement of cosmetic surgery research. Dr. Angel S. Berrios Rolón has authored a new study, "Bellafill Brow Lift: Nonsurgical, Immediate, and Long-Lasting," published online July 2, 2026 in The American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery, along with other authors on the official journal of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

The study examines a minimally invasive brow-lifting technique using Bellafill (ART) filler injection as an alternative to traditional surgical brow lift procedures. Reviewing 113 patients treated between 2015 and 2022, the research reports an 88.5% patient satisfaction rate and measurable brow elevation in the majority of cases, with bruising as the only complication observed. The authors conclude that the technique offers long-term results comparable to surgical approaches, with a simpler procedure and reduced recovery time.

Dr. Berrios Rolón's contribution reflects the outcome the UAG North American MD Pathway is built to produce: physicians who are rigorously trained, clinically grounded, and prepared to contribute to the fields they enter. The
MD Program & Curriculum is structured around clinical rigor and research readiness from the first year, and Dr. Berrios Rolón's work now sits alongside a growing body of peer-reviewed research from UAG graduates. UAG is proud to see its alumni shaping the research and practice of medicine well beyond graduation.
