UAG School of Medicine welcomed renowned medical educator Dr. Neil Osheroff for a three-day visit that fostered academic collaboration, faculty development, and innovative approaches to advancing medical education.

Renowned Medical Educator Dr. Neil Osheroff Visits UAG School of Medicine

This week, the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara School of Medicine had the privilege of welcoming Dr. Neil Osheroff, Professor of Biochemistry and Medicine and an internationally recognized medical educator, for an enriching three-day academic visit.

During his time, Dr. Osheroff engaged with faculty, academic leaders, and program directors across both the International Campus and the National Campus, including Dean Dr. Kashif Ahmad, MBBS, MSc, MS(MEdL), PhD. His visit fostered meaningful dialogue, mentorship opportunities, and the exchange of best practices that are shaping the future of global medical education.

As part of the visit, Dr. Osheroff delivered a special workshop on curricular integration, highlighting one of the most successful models implemented at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. This session provided faculty with practical strategies for enhancing curriculum cohesion, promoting deeper conceptual understanding, and ensuring students experience an integrated and patient-centered learning journey.

Dr. Osheroff’s visit further strengthened UAG SOM’s commitment to innovation, academic excellence, and global collaboration, ensuring that the school continues advancing as a leader in medical education both in Mexico and internationally.
