First Choice Emergency Room named Dr. Leigh Galetzan as the new Medical Director of its Austin Arboretum facility.

Dr. Galatzan received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his medical degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Before joining First Choice Emergency Room, Dr. Galatzan served as Medical Director of HealthMarkets in Dallas, TX as well as the Medical Director of the Student Division of United Healthcare in Plano, Texas.

He also previously served as the Medical Director of First Choice Emergency Room- Round Rock. Dr. Galatzan is board-certified in emergency medicine and has over 35 years practicing emergency medicine.

First Choice Emergency Room facilities are equipped with a full radiology suite, including a CT scanner, Digital X-ray, and Ultrasound, as well as on-site laboratories certified by the Clinical Laboratory Improvements Amendments (CLIA) and accredited by the Commission on Office Laboratories Accreditation (COLA).

“Dr. Galatzan is an excellent physician and will ensure our freestanding emergency room continues to deliver the highest quality care to Austin and the surrounding communities,” said Dr. Stephen Van Roekel, Regional Medical Officer of First Choice Emergency Room- Austin.
