Jessica Baik, MD, is a dedicated and compassionate physician committed to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. After earning her medical degree from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG) in 2016, she pursued postgraduate training in New York, where she began her residency in General Surgery. During this time, she developed a strong foundation in procedural medicine, surgical precision, and acute patient management.

Driven by her desire to build lasting relationships with patients and provide holistic, continuity-based care, Dr. Baik transitioned into Family Medicine. This pivotal decision allowed her to broaden her scope of practice and focus on comprehensive health management across all stages of life.

Upon returning to her hometown of San Diego, Dr. Baik established herself as a physician serving patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Her combined background in surgical and primary care training gives her a unique, integrative approach to medicine. She blends evidence-based clinical practice with preventive care and functional medicine principles to help patients optimize their overall health and well-being.

Dr. Baik believes that healthcare extends beyond treating illness — it is about restoring balance, preventing disease, and empowering patients to live vibrant, healthy lives. Her mission is to help individuals not only heal, but thrive.

Advice to Students and Future Physicians

Dr. Baik believes that medicine is more than the treatment of disease; it is the preservation of health and the restoration of harmony. She encourages future physicians to remain curious, adaptable, and dedicated to lifelong learning. Above all, she emphasizes the importance of seeing each patient as a whole person — not merely a diagnosis, but a life and story entrusted to their care.
