
On May 31st, the UAG Alumni Association launched the Austin Chapter with a lively mixer at La Popular, uniting graduates to reconnect, share stories, and celebrate their shared UAG experience.
On Saturday, May 31st, the UAG Alumni Association officially launched the Austin Chapter with a dynamic and engaging mixer at La Popular. The event brought together alumni from various graduating classes and professional backgrounds to reconnect, share stories, and celebrate their shared UAG experience.
The evening began with opening remarks from Alumni Director José Ramos, who welcomed attendees and spoke about the growing alumni presence across the United States. He emphasized the importance of local chapters in maintaining strong ties within the UAG community and creating new opportunities for collaboration and mentorship.
Chapter President Ale Vaca then shared her excitement about taking on the leadership role and her hope for building a meaningful and lasting alumni community in Austin. She encouraged attendees to stay involved and help the chapter grow.
Vice President of International Affairs, Ms. Susana Leano, closed the formal remarks with a few words of appreciation, highlighting the power of alumni connections and the university’s continued efforts to strengthen ties beyond graduation.
One of the highlights of the evening came when each guest stood to introduce themselves, sharing their names, specialties, and UAG memories. From family medicine physicians and general surgeons to communication sciences and engineering graduates, the event showcased the diversity and strength of the UAG alumni network.
The night was filled with great conversation, new connections, and a renewed sense of community. With such a strong kickoff, the Austin Chapter is well on its way to becoming an active and impactful part of UAG’s expanding alumni network.
