Chad Kingsley, MD, MBA, is officially the new District Health Officer for Northern Nevada Public Health (NNPH).

The decision on the employment agreement was made by the District Board of Health (DBOH) at a meeting on Thursday.

Kingsley’s first day will be May 13, 2024.

Outgoing District Health Officer Kevin Dick is retiring after nearly 40 years in public health but will remain at NNPH temporarily to help in the transition process.
“I want to express my gratitude to the District Board of Health for this opportunity,” Kingsley said. “My family and I are excited to be part of the community and can’t wait to get started.”

Last month, the District Board of Health selected Kingsley among three finalists for the top job with NNPH, formerly Washoe County Health District, after a nationwide search resulted in more than 90 applicants.
As part of the agreement approved on Thursday, Kingsley will receive an annual salary of $190,008, benefits amounting to $79,608 and up to $15,000 in moving expenses.

Kingsley was most recently the Public Health Director for Mohave County in Kingman, Arizona. Prior, he worked with the Southern Nevada Health District from 2012-2022.

Kingsley has a Medical Degree (MD) from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Western Governors University.

More information about Kingsley can be found in the DBOH agenda link here.
