UAG Alumni Dr. Elia Lima-Walton Explores the Role of AI in Healthcare at Global Digital Health Summit 2025

Elia Lima-Walton, MD, PA, a proud graduate of Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and current Principal Product Manager for Healthcare Generative AI at Mayo Clinic, recently participated in the Global Digital Health Summit (GDHS) 2025, held September 19–21 with representatives from more than 35 countries.

Dr. Lima-Walton was featured on two of the three days, where she addressed critical topics at the intersection of artificial intelligence and healthcare. On Day 1, under the theme Reimagining Healthcare from the Ground Up, she presented “Agentic AI: How Will It Impact Healthcare Delivery?”. On Day 2, as part of Tech-Driven Transformation Across the Ecosystem, she led the session “Will AI Lead to Layoffs? The Future of the Healthcare Workforce.”

Her presence at the Summit reflects not only her leadership in advancing digital health innovation but also the global impact of UAG graduates. From the classrooms of Guadalajara to the forefront of healthcare technology at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Lima-Walton exemplifies how UAG alumni are driving the future of medicine on an international scale.

The Global Digital Health Summit served as a platform for thought leaders across industry, academia, and government to exchange ideas, showcase technologies, and share strategies for implementing digital health solutions worldwide. Dr. Lima-Walton’s contributions added a unique perspective—bridging her medical training with her expertise in AI-driven product development.
