This past Saturday, the UAG Alumni community celebrated a significant milestone with the official launch of the California Alumni Chapter. Held at the picturesque Humphreys Half Moon Inn, the event brought together graduates spanning from the Class of 1973 to the most recent Class of 2024, creating an evening filled with camaraderie, networking, and a renewed commitment to strengthening alumni connections.
The evening opened with a warm welcome from José Ramos, Alumni Director, who highlighted the importance of alumni engagement and the growing network of UAG graduates across the United States. He then introduced Dr. Adolfo Saez, the newly appointed President of the California Chapter, who shared his vision for the chapter. Dr. Saez emphasized the chapter’s role in fostering professional connections, mentorship opportunities, and continued collaboration among alumni, as well as its mission to support current students and recent graduates as they transition into their medical careers.
Part of a Nationwide Alumni Movement
The launch of the California Chapter is part of a broader initiative to expand UAG’s Alumni Association across the United States. With alumni practicing medicine in every corner of the country, UAG graduates are coming together to establish local chapters that serve as hubs for networking, mentorship, and professional development. From New York to Texas, Florida to California, these alumni-led groups aim to create lasting connections, offer guidance to aspiring and current medical students, and enhance the reputation of UAG within the medical community.
As part of the evening’s program, alumni had the opportunity to introduce themselves and share their expectations for the new chapter. A common theme emerged: the importance of building a strong, engaged community that provides resources, networking opportunities, and a platform for professional growth. Alumni also discussed their role as ambassadors for UAG, dedicated to increasing awareness and interest in the university among prospective medical students.
Throughout the night, attendees enjoyed refreshments, lively discussions, and a shared passion for giving back to their alma mater. The successful launch of the California Alumni Chapter lays a solid foundation for future initiatives, including mentorship programs, networking events, and collaborative projects that will benefit both graduates and current students alike.
As UAG continues to expand its alumni presence across the U.S., we invite all graduates to get involved, stay connected, and be part of this exciting movement. If you are a UAG alumnus in California or beyond, now is the perfect time to join your local chapter and contribute to the growing legacy of UAG medical professionals making an impact worldwide.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to grow the UAG Alumni Network!
