UAG School of Medicine Hosts Three-Day Leadership & Faculty Development Retreat

The Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara School of Medicine successfully hosted its 2025 Leadership & Faculty Development Retreat, a three-day experience designed to strengthen collaboration, academic innovation, and collective growth across the institution.

The retreat brought together faculty members, academic leaders, and representatives from both the International and National Campuses for a series of high-impact discussions focused on the future of medical education. The sessions offered a space for reflection, strategic planning, and alignment around the School of Medicine’s long-term goals.

Participants engaged in in-depth conversations on several essential themes, including:
  • Curricular Transformation & the Challenges of Change
  • Emerging Challenges for Medical Educators
  • Professional Identity Formation in Medical Training
  • Responsible and Effective Use of Artificial Intelligence in Medical Education
The retreat reaffirmed the School of Medicine’s commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and academic excellence, ensuring that UAG SOM remains a leader in medical education in Mexico and internationally.

A special acknowledgment goes to Vice President Mrs. Susana Leaño and Dean Dr. Kashif Ahmad, MBBS, MSc, MS(MEdL), PhD, whose leadership and support were fundamental in making this faculty retreat a success.
