On Friday, July 25, the UAG School of Medicine held one of the semester’s most anticipated events: the Interest Group Fair. The event began at 1:00 p.m. and was a resounding success, bringing together more than 25 booths organized by students with the support of their faculty advisors.
Of the 25 booths, 20 represented active medical interest groups, while the remaining five showcased student-led programs such as CSD Mentors, Teaching Assistants (TAs), Student Ambassadors, and NASA (National Association of Student Advisors). Each booth featured interactive activities and motivational messages, reinforcing the School’s strong sense of community and student leadership.
The event officially kicked off with remarks from Dr. Kashif Ahmad, Dean of the School of Medicine, who encouraged students to explore different medical specialties as they define their future careers. Following this, Andrea Ozaeta, NASA Vice President and fourth-semester student, delivered an inspiring speech and announced an exciting raffle with valuable prizes.
The lively atmosphere included snacks, games, and hands-on activities, with enthusiastic participation from students—particularly those in their first semester. The event concluded with the raffle, where prizes such as an official notebook, a faculty-branded tumbler, and a School of Medicine sweatshirt were awarded to lucky winners.
