At the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG), the journey to becoming a doctor begins with more than just textbooks and lectures—it starts with community, connection, and celebration. This past Saturday, UAG proudly hosted its traditional "Welcome Picnic" for new students of the International Medicine Program, an event filled with warmth, camaraderie, and excitement.

The day began with an inspiring address from Dr. Kashif Ahmad, Dean of the International Medicine Program, who encouraged students to embrace the transformative journey ahead. Following his heartfelt message, Daniel Escalera, President of the National Association of Students of Autonomous Universities (NASA), officially kicked off the event, setting the tone for a memorable day.

Building Friendships and Foundations
Held on the picturesque softball field at UAG’s "Ciudad Universitaria," the picnic provided first-semester students from the United States and Puerto Rico with an invaluable opportunity to bond with their peers, meet faculty and staff, and explore the various resources available at UAG. Representatives from interest groups, the Office of Student Success, and student leadership teams were present to introduce students to the vibrant UAG community.
