Meet UAG Alumni, Angel Luis Soto, MD, a General Practitioner with Wellness Alliance

Dr. Soto, a general practitioner, is the Medical Director of Wellness Alliance in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.

Wellness Alliance is a customer service-focused organization with a multidisciplinary and integrative approach to occupational and preventive medicine. Under a unique approach to medicine known as Boutique Medicine, the providers guarantee a high standard of care.

In 1998, Dr. Soto received a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Biological Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico. He subsequently moved to Guadalajara, Mexico, where he completed the International Medical Program at the UAG School of Medicine in four years and graduated in 2002. In 2010, he graduated from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus with a Master of Public Health degree and finished his medical internship at Mutual Aid Hospital.

Dr. Soto is a Puerto Rico College of Physicians member and a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner for the FAA. He is certified by the Puerto Rico Board of Medical Examiners, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Mental Services Administration Health and Addiction Program, and Advanced Life Support.

A general practitioner (GP) or family physician is a physician who treats acute and chronic ailments, as well as provides preventive care and health education to patients of all ages. General practitioners' responsibilities are not limited to certain areas of medicine, and they have particular expertise in managing patients with diverse health conditions. They are educated to treat patients with varying degrees of complexity across countries.
