The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico. He then went on to complete his residency in general surgery at the North Shore University Hospital, and his fellowship in colon & rectal surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
 

Licensed to practice medicine in New York, Dr. Gallo has medical privileges at North Shore University Hospital, NYU Winthrop Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital South Nassau, and Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
 

Active in academia, he serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor within the Department of Surgery at the NYU Long Island School of Medicine.
 

Colorectal surgery is a field in medicine dealing with disorders of the rectum, anus, and colon. The field is also known as proctology, but this term is now used infrequently within medicine and is most often employed to identify practices relating to the anus and rectum in particular. A colorectal surgeon is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of anorectal and colorectal conditions (conditions of the colon, rectum, and anus).
 

Among his various accolades, Dr. Gallo has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award (2018, 2015), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2016, 2015), and On-Time Doctor Award (2015).
