Get to know Dermatopathologist Dr. Sheva Khalafbeigi, who serves patients in Boston, Massachusetts.

A determined dermatopathologist, Dr. Khalafbeigi is affiliated with
Inform Diagnostics in Boston, Massachusetts. Specializing in melanocytic lesions, she brings unparalleled expertise to the diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions, earning the trust and admiration of colleagues and patients alike. 

After graduating with her degree in Kinesiology from the
University of Southern California, she went on to pursue her medical education at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico, before completing her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Penrose-St. Francis Hospital in 2017. Finally, she successfully completed her fellowship in dermatopathology at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in 2018.

As a testament to her success, the doctor is board-certified in anatomic & clinical pathology and dermatopathology by the
American Board of Pathology (ABPath). Her professional affiliations with prestigious medical associations, including the College of American Pathology, the American Society of Clinical Pathology, the American Medical Association, and the American Society of Dermatopathology, underscore her dedication to staying abreast of the latest advancements in her field.
Dermatopathology is a joint subspecialty of dermatology and pathology or surgical pathology that focuses on the study of cutaneous diseases at a microscopic and molecular level. It also encompasses analyses of the potential causes of skin diseases at a basic level. A dermatopathologist is a highly trained physician who specializes in diagnosing disorders of the skin under a microscope.

On a more personal note, Dr. Khalafbeigi’s passion for her work is rooted in her personal experiences, drawing inspiration from her immigrant parents, supportive sister, and her own journey as a Division I dual athlete at the University of Southern California in swimming and water polo.
