New Student Orientation

Orientation Days at UAG School of Medicine are designed to welcome and prepare new students for their medical journey. These sessions introduce students to UAG’s academic environment, provide essential resources, and offer a comprehensive overview of the curriculum, student services, and campus life. Through interactive workshops and presentations, students meet faculty, connect with peers, and gain valuable insights into succeeding in both Basic Sciences and Clinical Rotations.
 

All students are required to attend New Student Orientation sessions at UAG School of Medicine.

The White Coat Ceremony signifies the beginning of your career as a medical student!
 
During this special event, students are presented with their white coats, marking the beginning of their journey toward becoming physicians. The ceremony emphasizes the importance of compassionate patient care, professional ethics, and the responsibilities that come with the practice of medicine.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When will I move to Guadalajara?

Incoming students will arrive in Guadalajara approximately one week before classes begin. During this time, you will participate in orientation, where you'll meet your fellow students, faculty, and staff. You'll also have the opportunity to explore your new surroundings, familiarize yourself with the campus, and complete the registration process for your classes. This week is designed to help you settle in and get ready for an exciting start to your medical education at UAG.
What do I need to bring to the Orientation days?

Remember to bring your laptop to access your student account and orientation information.
What should I wear during Orientation?

During orientation, please dress in business casual attire. It is recommended to wear shoes with low or flat heels. Avoid jeans, sportswear, pajamas, open-toed shoes, flip-flops, or porous shoes.
What happens at the White Coat Ceremony?

Typically, our ceremonies include a keynote speaker, the recitation of an oath, and the presentation of the white coat.

 

The White Coat Ceremony marks the start of your medical career. You will be called up individually during this ceremonial convocation to receive your white coat, and a UAG faculty member will “coat” the first semester students.
