UAG School of Medicine Scholarships
At UAG School of Medicine, we believe that exceptional healthcare begins with an accessible and comprehensive medical education. Our mission is to educate and empower a diverse group of students from across the United States, preparing them to make a lasting impact in the communities they will serve.
To support this mission, UAG’s board members has decided to offer three exclusive scholarship programs designed for incoming students enrolling at UAG School of Medicine. These scholarships provide financial support to help you focus on your medical education and achieve your career goals.
Incoming students to the School of Medicine International Program are eligible to receive an institutional scholarship award.
Value:
Students may receive up to $26,000 in tuition assistance over a four-year period. All scholarships are one-time awards and are subject to funding availability.
Criteria:
• New incoming first semester students
• Complete and submit the scholarship application and send it to admissions@uag.edu
• MCAT score of 500 or higher.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher.
Eligibility:
The awarding committee will consider the following criteria when selecting eligible applicants for this scholarship in addition to the basic eligibility requirements listed above:
• A two- to three-page essay outlining your history and the development of your interest and desire for a future in medicine.
• Clinical experience, including shadowing/preceptorships.
• Special honors or recognition.
*Meeting the above criteria qualifies you for scholarship consideration, but it does not guarantee that a scholarship will be awarded.
Scholarship terms:
To retain any scholarship, students must maintain full-time, continuous enrollment, remain in good academic standing, and complete the scholarship renewal application.
The Alumni Legacy Scholarship award was established to encourage future generations to enroll in and graduate from UAG School of Medicine. The scholarship is available to any children and grandchildren of UAG School of Medicine alumni who are pursuing a degree in medicine.
Value:
The award is $2,500 per year and the Scholarship Committee will make the award decision based on your application, documents, and personal interview.

Let’s keep UAG in the family. The Sibling Scholarship is awarded to siblings attending UAG School of Medicine International Program. Only new incoming students will earn the award.

After receiving and reviewing your application, the committee will select twenty-five possible candidates.
The Scholarship Committee will make the award decision based on your application, documents, and personal interview.
The scholarship applies for 4 years of medical school, without interruptions during their studies, and remain in good disciplinary and academic standing.
All selected awarded recipients will be notified in writing by the UAG Admissions Office.

To renew your scholarship, recipients must complete and submit an application each semester to isao@uag.edu for review. The scholarship committee evaluates your application based on submitted documents, academic performance, and school reports.
A personal interview may be required for renewal applicants. All scholarship awards are contingent upon academic and financial verification, and decisions will be made before the start of each semester.
