1. How will I know if I matched?

Applicants will learn whether they matched or not at 10:00am ET on Monday, March 11 by logging into the R3 system and receiving one of the below messages:

- Congratulations, you have matched! (categorical, primary)

- Congratulations, you have matched to an advanced position! (PGY-2 advanced – access to unfilled programs to participate in SOAP for a prelim position)

- Congratulations, you have matched to a one year position! (PGY-1 prelim – access to unfilled programs and eligible to participate in SOAP to obtain an advanced position)

- We are sorry, you did not match to any position! (eligible for SOAP)

- You are NOT matched because you did not submit a certified rank order list! (eligible for SOAP)

- You are NOT matched because you are withdrawn! (no access to SOAP)

o NOTE: Applicants are withdrawn as a result of not receiving OET test score or not receiving a Step 2 score back by ROL deadline or by securing a residency via another matching service (i.e. CaRMS)

2. When does SOAP start?

SOAP begins on Monday, March 11 when unmatched and partially matched applicants can access the list of unfilled programs under the SOAP tab in the NRMP R3 system.
3. How long does the SOAP process last?

Applicants can start sending SOAP applications to programs via ERAS on Monday, March 11 at 11:00am ET. SOAP will conclude on Thursday, March 14 at 9:00pm ET.
