Meet UAG Alumni, Paul Dionisopoulos, MD, an Emergency Physician from Rhode Island


 Dr. Dionisopoulos is an emergency physician whose main focus at present is addiction medicine.

Dr. Dionisopoulos is an emergency physician whose main focus is addiction medicine. He is affiliated with Landmark Medical Center, Our Lady Of Fatima Hospital, and Roger Williams Medical Center, and serves as the Medical Director of Health Services at Rhode Island College.

He specializes in suboxone treatment at the Village Medical Urgent Care of Cumberland, Rhode Island, and urgent care medical needs, where he treats a variety of illnesses, including work-related injuries.

The affiliated hospitals of Dr. Dionisopoulos are all committed to providing patients with compassionate, high-quality care and better community healthcare.

Rhode Island College is a public college in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Dionisopoulos’s duties at Rhode Island College are to oversee the daily functions of the Student Health Center as well as treat the medical needs of the students such as general illnesses, physicals, athletic injuries, and preventative education.

In 1985, Dr. Dionisopoulos earned his medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara School of Medicine in Mexico, at the early stages of his academic career. He subsequently moved to the United States and completed his internal medicine residency at Berkshire Medical Center.

Advancing his efforts, he was an active member of the Massachusetts Medical Society and the American College of Physicians, a national organization of internists who specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and care of adults.

Emergency medicine, also known as accident and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. An emergency physician works in an emergency department to care for acutely ill or injured patients on an unscheduled basis.

On a more personal note, Dr. Dionisopoulos speaks multiple languages, including English, Greek, and Spanish.
