The UAG School of Medicine’s Student Success Office recently organized a memorable event exclusively for our 4th-semester students who are about to embark on their clinical rotations.

This celebration marked the end of their first two years of rigorous study and preparation, and provided an opportunity to come together to honor their hard work, dedication, and resilience.

The purpose of the event was to recognize their achievements thus far and to provide motivation for the road ahead. As these students embark on their clinical rotations across various locations—Arizona, Nevada, Illinois, Puerto Rico, California, or Colorado—they will carry with them not only their commitment to UAG and the field of medicine, but also
the confidence to serve with excellence and compassion. Upon completing their rotations, they will be fully prepared to practice medicine in any of the 50 U.S. states, upholding the values and knowledge gained at UAG.

Clinical rotations are a pivotal time for students, giving them hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of patient care. The Student Success Office hopes to maintain strong communication with these students as they progress through this next chapter of their journey.

The event brought together faculty members, department heads, and students in an atmosphere of pride and encouragement. Distinguished attendees included:
  • Dr. Kashif Ahmad, Dean of the International Program of Medicine
  • Lorena Lopez, Director of Student Success
  • Tatiana Fausto, Director of the International Student Affairs Office
  • UAG Block Directors
UAG
Each faculty member shared words of advice and encouragement, inspiring students to approach their rotations with curiosity and a passion for patient care. The Student Success Office emphasized their commitment to maintaining strong communication with students throughout this new chapter of their medical journey.

One of the highlights of the event was a lighthearted and fun awards segment organized by the Student Wellness group. Students had previously voted on playful categories, such as "Most Beautiful Eyes of the Generation," and those selected received special recognition during the celebration. This unique touch added a warm, personal element to the event, making it a memorable experience for all.

The evening culminated with a toast to the students’ success, led by Dr. Ahmad, Lorena Lopez and the faculty members in attendance. The toast symbolized not only the end of their pre-clinical years but also the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their medical careers. This small but meaningful gesture underscored the support and pride the faculty and staff feel for these future physicians.

The
Student Success Office is proud to celebrate our 4th-semester students and looks forward to staying connected with them as they continue to learn, grow, and make a difference in the field of medicine. Best of luck to each of them as they head into their rotations!

We wish them the very best as they embark on this new adventure and take the next step toward becoming exceptional healthcare professionals.
