Last Thursday, November 28, the traditional Thanksgiving dinner was organized by the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara for the students of the international medical program, mostly residing from the United States and Puerto Rico.
The formal evening took place at the Hard Rock Hotel in Guadalajara where more than 400 students accompanied by their friends, family and faculty attended.
The U.S. General Consul in Guadalajara, Robin Matthewman, sent a message to the attendees and highlighted the support that students find in the consulate ... “This is wonderful, having our friends close especially because we’re celebrating away from home. I am sure you have met my colleagues at the consulate, know that we are here to help you and support you. Have an excellent night and Happy Thanksgiving. ”
After these words, the president of the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) UAG, Leonel Terán, took the floor to pray and give thanks.
The President of the UAG, Lic. Antonio Leaño Reyes; the Vice president for Health Sciences, Dr. Alfonso Petersen Farah; the Director of the International Medical Program, Lic. Ricardo del Castillo Ruano; and the Director of Institutional Relations, C.P. Marcelo Mazariegos Monteagudo were also in attendance.
