Contributing to Their Training
This project involves students and professors from various fields, such as General Medicine, Nutrition Sciences, Dentistry, Physical Therapy, and the International Medicine Program (PIM). It focuses on providing services to vulnerable communities and promoting regional well-being.
In addition to the PMC, the UAG has the Patient Study Unit (UPE), INTECOS, and partnerships with public and private institutions. These opportunities allow students to apply their knowledge under expert supervision, helping them become innovative health sector leaders.
This practical approach significantly contributes to student training from the first semester, allowing them to interact with real patients, overcome fear, improve their professional ethics, gain experience, and develop skills to benefit the community.
A Bit of History
The PMC has a long history of service. Founded in 1973, it has provided care to needy communities for 51 years. Since its inception, the UAG has maintained a constant commitment to community well-being and providing medical services to the most vulnerable sectors, explained Dr. Miguel Manjarrez Parra, Coordinator of the PMC.
In addition to serving vulnerable communities, the PMC has also supported emergencies caused by natural disasters, such as earthquakes and hurricanes.
