Currently managing a thriving private practice in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Dr. Cruz Melendez is recognized not only for his clinical expertise but also for his contributions to medical education and his commitment to the well-being of infants, children, and adolescents.

Graduating with a medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in 1977, Dr. Cruz Melendez embarked on a journey of continuous learning and specialization. His educational pursuits included an internship at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, a residency at the Charleston Area Medical Center, and a one-year anesthesiology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. These experiences enriched his skills and equipped him with the knowledge necessary for the nuanced care of pediatric patients.
