The National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) helps health professionals across the care continuum enhance and demonstrate their knowledge—both in school and while practicing. They offer a portfolio of assessment tools for every stage of the medical school journey, high-quality licensing exams, and a range of products and services for health professionals and educators. NBME produces the USMLE Steps 1, 2 & 3.

UAG’S partnership with NBME implements the assessment tools to measure students’ readiness at different levels. The integration of NBME exams will be introduced in phases. The first stage includes the Comprehensive Basic Science Examination (CBSE) and Comprehensive Clinical Science Examination (CCSE) to prequalify students to sit for the USMLE Steps 1 & 2.

CBSE and CCSE are the gold standards used by most Medical Schools in the United States to prequalify students for the Board Exams. UAG School of Medicine steps up in its commitment to generating high-quality physicians to serve communities in the USA and beyond.

Future stages of this project will incorporate faculty development and administering subject exams in basic sciences courses and evaluating competencies after each core clinical rotation.
