Students from the UAG School of Medicine Showcase Research Findings
Named "UAG-Research Day," this event aims to strengthen science and research in the medical profession.
In an effort to enhance their exceptional training and foster a research-oriented environment, the International Medicine Program at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara (UAG) organized the prestigious "Research Day." This event provided a platform for students to showcase the results of their research projects undertaken in the previous term.
The event involved 210 foreign students from the International Program, including students from Puerto Rico and the United States, who created and presented 42 research posters and review articles, aiming to promote students' interest in science and medicine.
According to Dr. Lucía Álvarez Palazuelos, the Director of the Research Department at the International Campus, the goal is for students to become familiar with the opportunities in the field of research before they depart and to develop other skills.
"To motivate them, prizes were awarded for the top three posters, evaluated by 23 academics. The students worked on their posters for four months and then presented them. The presented posters cover various medical areas or topics that students are passionate about," stated the academic.
The research program at this school recently began its operations and hopes to continue its growth with other events. In addition to the poster exhibition, the "Research Day" also featured two conferences delivered by Dr. Luis Eduardo Figuera Villanueva and Dr. Paulina Carreño Pérez.
