UAG School of Medicine welcomes its new dean of Medical Education, Dr. Kashif Ahmad.

Dean Dr. Kashif Ahmad

UAG School of Medicine is excited to welcome its new dean of Medical Education, Dr. Kashif Ahmad. He will begin on November 1, 2022.

Kashif Ahmad, MD, MSc, MSc (MEdL), Ph.D., is a medical educationist with a progressive career in diverse business cultures, including medical education, research, leadership, and educational technology.

Dr. Ahmad is a compassionate collaborator with a high degree of responsibility for quality, accuracy, and implementing sound solutions for the continuous improvement of educational institutions.

He is adept at developing proactive strategies for thorough evaluation, rigorous academic and institutional success, expertise in medical education, faculty development, educational innovation, and influential research.

Dr. Ahmad held numerous prestigious positions prior to joining Ross University School of Medicine, including serving as a founding faculty member and course director at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine (CIMED), an engineering-based medical school at the University of Illinois, as well as several positions as a professor at Northwestern in Minnesota, the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, and Ross University School of Medicine.

As the Associate Dean of the Academic Learning Environment at Ross, he formed the brand-new office offering solutions for better student outcomes and creating innovative programs for student success.

His major accomplishments include developing a new problem-based learning curriculum, designing award-winning courses that influenced curricular change with improved student outcomes, new programs, and certificates for micro-credentialing of both residential and virtual students, highly effective innovative faculty development programs, and the incorporation of innovative educational technologies to enhance medical education programs.

He holds a Ph.D. with a gold medal from the National University of Singapore, a medical degree from Pakistan, a double masters from King’s College London, and another in medical education leadership from the University of New England.

Dr. Ahmad is a dynamic leader in setting innovative programs at national and international schools. He has won the Golden Apple Award, which is only given to selected master teachers for their Excellence in Teaching. He is also an established author of numerous medical and scientific books, theses, articles, and services as an international thesis evaluator.

He enthusiastically joins the UAG School of Medicine as the Dean of Medical Education!
