Dr. Kashif Ahmad, Dean of Medical Education, Dr. Angel Matos, Dean of Student Success, Dr. Ricardo del Castillo, Associate Dean of Medical Education and Clinical Affairs, Dr. Miranda Robledo Amezcua, Academic Director, and Dr. Jose Monsivais, president of the UAG Alumni Texas Chapter, were also present at the ceremony and responsible for bestowing the white coat to the students.
In addition, the new students took the Hippocratic Oath, another sign of medical labor, where they vowed to conduct themselves ethically in their chosen field.
As a special tribute, Dr. Cristopher A. Reeder had the honor of awarding Dr. Jose Monsivais, a graduate of the UAG School of Medicine, with the Lic. Antonio Leaño Alvarez del Castillo Award for his outstanding accomplishments in the field of medicine during the event.
