
"I studied undergrad at the University of New Mexico, and I came to UAG in Guadalajara to study medicine here," Dr. Vega shared.
This bold step marked the beginning of a journey that would shape his career and life in profound ways. During his time at UAG School of Medicine, Dr. Vega engaged in invaluable experiences, including completing his internship and social service in Mexico. He reminisced, "I ended up doing my social service here in [Guadalajara], and then I did my internship here as well."
"I did research for two years with dialysis," he explained.
"The biggest piece of advice is that you have to be very persistent, you have to be very diligent in what you do," Dr. Vega advised. He acknowledged that the path to a medical career can be challenging, requiring extensive studying and perseverance. "You have to be strong-willed and strong-minded to be able to get through it," he added.
