Dr. Juan Jorge Olivero received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin after graduating from Strake Jesuit College Preparatory. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and his Fifth Pathway Certificate from New York Medical College. Dr. Olivero completed his internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine. He also received his Fellowship in Nephrology from Baylor.
Dr. Olivero is board-certified in Nephrology and is a certified Specialist in Clinical Hypertension. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and is certified by the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology in kidney ultrasonography.
Dr. Olivero is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at both Weill Cornell Medical College and The Institute of Academic Medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University College of Medicine. He is the medical director of DaVita @ Home Dialysis and Home for Texas Dialysis as well as the Nephrology inpatient unit at Houston Methodist Hospital.
Dr. Olivero serves on the DaVita Physicians Council at the national level. He is on the By-laws Committee, Nominating Committee, and the Clinical Nutrition Subcommittee at Houston Methodist Hospital as well as the Medical Executive Committee of Kindred Hospital.
Dr. Olivero was named a Top 300 Physician in Houston in 2012 by Health and Fitness Sports Magazine and was recognized as a Top Doctor by Houstonia Magazine in 2013.
