UAG Faculty and Student Collaborate on Innovative Research Published in Diagnostics Magazine.

The Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG) proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of our faculty and students, who, in collaboration with other distinguished medical professionals, have published the article "An Overview of Gaucher Disease" in the prestigious journal Diagnostics.

The Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG) proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of our faculty and students, who, in collaboration with other distinguished medical professionals, have published the article "An Overview of Gaucher Disease" in the prestigious journal Diagnostics.  
 

This accomplishment highlights UAG’s commitment to advancing medical research and fostering global collaboration. 
 

A Collaborative Effort in Medical Excellence 
This significant research was conducted by: 

Dr. Sandra Guzmán-Silahua, a dedicated UAG faculty member. 

Dr. Arnulfo Nava, a dedicated UAG faculty member. 

Kylee Louise Duey, a motivated medical student in UAG’s International Program. 
 

Working alongside other medical experts, this team delivered an insightful review of Gaucher Disease, a rare lysosomal storage disorder. Their collaborative research focuses on improving the understanding, early diagnosis, and treatment outcomes of this condition, particularly within the Mexican population. 
 

Research Highlights 
The article offers a comprehensive overview of Gaucher Disease, emphasizing: 

The genetic and biochemical underpinnings of the disorder. 

Current therapeutic approaches, including enzyme replacement and substrate reduction therapies. 

The critical importance of early diagnosis in improving patient outcomes. 

By collaborating with other medical professionals, the authors underscore the power of teamwork in addressing complex global health challenges.
